Side Chair

Oskar Stonorov (American, born Germany, 1905–1970) · Philadelphia · 1940

This chair is from a suite that the donor used as dining room chairs with a case piece by the same designers. The heavy rush upholstery of the back and seat demonstrates how designers returned to the use of natural materials in interior furnishings on the eve of World War II.
